GENERATIONAL REIKI

Traditional reiki is defined as a healing method utilizing a “universal life force energy” that can be learned by receiving attunements and instruction from a reiki master. What this method does not explain is that what they refer to as the “universal life force energy”, is in fact the presence of the divine creator, God, source, or whatever name you wish to call the creative force responsible for everything in existence. Most importantly, the existence of love. Love is the catalyst. Love is the language of the heart and the mechanism by which healing is achieved. When this is fully realized, it’s not only physical healing that takes place, but emotional and spiritual healing as well, thereby completing the concept of the “mind, body, spirit” connection. This is the only way that a person could ever be FULLY healed. It HAS TO BE ALL 3 working synergistically together. Also, the practitioner doesn’t actually heal. They simply learn how to open a direct connection with the divine creator and allow it to pass THROUGH them like a conduit. The human body is then used as a kind of instrument, vibrating at the frequency of perfect HARMONY. If you think about the word harmony, there are some deeper meanings that become relevant in this context. For example the idea of “Living in harmony” with yourself, other people, or nature. Or the synergy and application of the harmonics of sound. Whether that is created by the vibration of a person’s vocal chords when singing, or the vibration of the strings of a musical instrument. Another example would be the concept of all of the cells and organs of the body working together in perfect harmony to achieve homeostasis and health. When understood in this way, it becomes clear that this process is attainable for anyone.

The generational aspect comes in with the understanding of how genetics and hereditary traits are passed down through familial lines. Some examples of this would be a strong empathic aspect to one’s personality, or a strength in critical thinking allowing for an open mind when learning new information, or a propensity for the need to know and understand the answers to philosophical questions like “Where did we come from?”, or “Why are we here?”. These subtle traits enable the formation of a connection with the divine creator to come more naturally. This concept first became meaningful to me when I made that direct connection and FELT it flow through me resulting in the ability to stop my daughter’s seizures in their tracks. These new insights cemented the realization that I had some natural or hereditary ability making it easier to connect and facilitate this energetic healing process. Later it became more clear when my sister Jess and I visited the spiritual community of Lily Dale, NY. While there, we discovered that our great great grandmother Ollie Collier was not only the leader of a spiritualist church, but also a “hands on healer” of some renown. Our mother added more details to this discovery like the fact that Grandma Collier was said to have prophetic visions and that people would travel from all over to have her “lay her hands on them”. This is a well known and respected tool and concept that the Christian community uses to heal! This realization sparked the moment the angels connected the dots for me! I as an atheist, a leader in new age spiritualism, and a reiki master from the far east religious tradition were all doing the SAME THING! What they in the east were calling reiki, the Christians were calling angelic visions and the “laying on of hands”, and myself who didn’t know what I was doing, were all doing the same thing.

So although we did get certified in traditional reiki, it wasn’t actually required or necessary to connect with the divine creator or for the subsequent healing process to take place. In fact, neither traditional or generational reiki are required. Anyone and everyone can learn how to make this connection for themselves.
